Seneca Gaming Corporation was established in 2002 to develop and operate the Seneca Nation of Indians’ Class III gaming and entertainment facilities in Western New York.

At the time, it was a dream that the Nation could develop and operate competitive world-class casino resorts in the economically-challenged region of Western New York.

The dream became reality on December 31, 2002, when, after 100 days and $100 million in capital investment, Seneca Niagara Casino opened its doors to the world. The project converted an aging, under-utilized and under-maintained convention center into a full-service gaming and entertainment facility, drawing shoulder-to-shoulder crowds and rave reviews.

Today, Seneca Gaming Corporation employs more than 4,000 employees earning more than $133 million in annual payroll. The company operates three gaming and entertainment facilities with more than 6,400 slot machines, 133 table games, 1,000 luxury hotel rooms, 19 restaurants and additional outlets and amenities. All three Seneca-owned casinos spend more than $100 million combined annually with local vendors and suppliers of all sizes, supporting thousands of additional jobs and expanding its economic reach deep into the Western New York community.

The opening of Seneca Niagara Casino kicked off a remarkable stretch of economic development, the likes of which has not been seen in Western New York in decades.

Since 2002, Seneca Gaming Corporation has completed more than $1 billion in construction projects, including the 26-story luxury hotel at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel, the temporary and permanent facilities at Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel, the temporary and permanent facilities at Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino, and the 18-hole championship-level public golf course at Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course.
